2022 - Current
This medium-density housing proposal has gone through the concept review process with the City of Minnetonka. It is now in the process of making a formal application.
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has hired Sambetec Engineering firm to do a thorough site survey and engineering for a formal site plan.
The Mills Church, in partnership with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, submitted a concept plan in March 2022 to develop single-family homes and 12 units of townhomes on the undeveloped portions of their 5.5 acre campus.

One single-family home is a stand-alone permit build which does not need any special approvals. Construction on this home at 3504 Elm Lane will begin in August 2022. Volunteering on this home will run from September 2022 - Early 2023.

This larger project has gone through the concept review process (Step 1: in the diagram below). Currently, the Mills Church and TCHFH are evaluating the feedback from the concept review, and working with an engineering firm. This is all part of the due diligence before submitting a formal application. Changes from the concept will likely involve breaking up the Town-Homes into smaller combinations of units. The projected date for submitting a formal application is not set, but will likely be before December 2022 (Step 2: in the diagram below). The community will have opportunities to participate in listening and feedback sessions related to this project.
